Cairns to Brisbane Route

Cairns

A far north Queensland city with a warm tropical climate, one of the most popular destinations for international tourists in Australia. Famous for its night markets, and esplanade lined with restaurants, bars, and swimming lagoon. Gateway to the magical Great Barrier Reef, beautiful Port Douglas, stunning Daintree Rainforest and scenic Atherton Tablelands.

Mission Beach

Wongaling Beach and Mission Beach are small coastal villages nestled between the ocean and hills in Far North Queensland. Part of the famous Cassowary Coast, and gateway to Dunk Island, the region is a popular destination for skydiving thrill seekers, and scenic coastal trekking.

Townsville

The unofficial capital of North Queensland, famous for its granite Castle Hill rock formation, and tropical beach and garden foreshore, The Strand. Also popular for its Great Barrier Reef tourism, and gateway to Magnetic Island. Premier Motor Service picks up and sets down outside the Sealink Ferry Terminal which provides ferry services to and from Magnetic Island.

Airlie Beach

A beautiful coastal destination with a tropical climate and lifestyle in the Whitsunday region of Queensland. Popular with holidaymakers and international travellers for resort stays, camping, kayaking, sailing, and close proximity to the more than 70 Whitsunday Islands and scenic coastlines including Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet Lookout.

Mackay

The unofficial sugar capital of Australia, situated on the Queensland coast roughly halfway between Brisbane and Cairns. Attractions include the Mackay Marina, the Bluewater Lagoon leisure facility overlooking the Pioneer River, and the more than 30 scenic beaches within driving distance. Also enjoy the Regional Botanic Gardens, and an array of leisure walks and bikeways as part of the Bluewater Trail.

Rockhampton

One of Queensland's oldest cities with gold rush history, Rockhampton is situated on the Fitzroy River and Tropic of Capricorn, and experiences more than 300 sunshine days each year. With fishing, river cruises, mountain bike trails and a heritage-listed village and botanic gardens, Rockhampton is also within close proximity to the Capricorn Coast including Yeppoon and Great Keppel Island.

Agnes Water

Agnes Water is a popular tourist town on Queensland's Discovery coast, home of the most northerly surfing beach along Australia’s east coast. The neighbouring village of 1770 is popular for its natural beauty and historical significance as one of Captain Cook’s Australian landings.

Note: Premier Motor Service does not operate all the way into the township of Agnes Water, setting down approximately 25km away at the BP Service Station at Fingerboard Turn Off.

Hervey Bay

Situated on the Fraser Coast of Queensland, Hervey Bay is the whale watching capital of Australia, with thousands of humpback whales resting and migrating in and around the bay each year between April and October. The region is also popular for its calm and scenic beaches, recreational fishing, boating and water activities, and as the gateway to the world heritage listed K'gari (Fraser Island).

Rainbow Beach

A quiet and idyllic beach town named for the rainbow-coloured, mineral-rich sand dunes that surround the area. Popular with tourists and holidaymakers for camping, fishing and four-wheel-driving along the beach, the region also serves as a gateway to K'gari (Fraser Island) with ferry access at nearby Inskip Point, and access to the Cooloola Great Walk through the Great Sandy National Park to the south.

Noosa Heads

A popular tourist and holiday destination for both domestic and international travellers at the northern end of Queensland's Sunshine Coast, boasting beachfront cafes, shopping and resort style accommodation. Also home to the stunning Noosa National Park, one of the most visited national parks in Australia, which features a number of scenic headlands, lookouts, bays, caves, and beaches along picturesque coastal walking tracks.

Maroochydore

A popular coastal city on Queensland's stunning Sunshine Coast, situated on the Maroochy River between Coolum Beach, Alexandra Headland, and Mooloolaba coastal communities and beaches. Home to some of Queensland's major surf and triathlon events, and within close proximity to the famous Australia Zoo, Sea Life Aquarium, Glass House Mountains and scenic hinterland villages.

Brisbane

Brisbane is the capital city of Queensland, and third most populous city in Australia, named after the Brisbane River upon which it is located. It is a popular tourist destination serving as a gateway for visitors to the state of Queensland. Popular attractions include the cultural, social, and recreational South Bank precinct on the southern bank of Brisbane River. The Ekka agricultural show and Riverfire Festival are popular drawcards during August and September.

Surfers Paradise

A popular beachfront tourist and holiday destination on Queensland’s iconic Gold Coast, famous for its Meter Maids and Q1 skyscraper, the tallest building in Australia. The Gold Coast region is popular among tourists for its scenic surfing beaches, retail shopping, night life, theme parks, and rainforest hinterland.

Tweed Heads

A coastal town located at the New South Wales and Queensland border, sharing proximity with its 'twin town' Coolangatta. Popular for its recreational fishing and boating activities, beaches and coastal scenery, as well as close proximity to the Gold Coast region, and national parks including Mount Warning, one of the largest shield volcanoes in the Southern Hemisphere.

Byron Bay

A popular coastal destination for tourists and holiday makers, Byron Bay is home to the easternmost point on the Australian continent, which includes the iconic Cape Byron Lighthouse. The region is famous for its spectacular surfing and snorkelling beaches, its unique shopping and market experiences, and its vibrant community spirit.

Ballina

A town in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Ballina is situated on the Richmond River and is home to Australia's Big Prawn. Popular for its surfing beaches, boating and fishing, it is also the southern gateway to the beautiful Ballina and Byron hinterland region which boasts stunning rural scenery and farm gate stalls, quaint villages, rainforests, and spectacular waterfalls.

Coffs Harbour

Is a coastal city on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, nestled between a high mountain backdrop and several scenic beaches. It is home to an historic timber jetty as well as Australia's iconic Big Banana, and is a popular tourist and holiday destination for boating and fishing activities, as well as its close proximity to several national land and marine parks.

Port Macquarie

A quaint coastal town on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Port Macquarie is situated at the mouth of the Hastings River, and is known for its beautiful farmland and fresh produce, and its scenic beaches, lakes and waterways. It is also famous for its koala populations, home to a Koala Hospital and Conservation Centre, as well as Billabong Zoo Koala and Wildlife Park. Other attractions include the Sea Acres Rainforest Centre and the iconic Tacking Point Lighthouse.

Newcastle

The second most populous city in New South Wales, Newcastle is situated at the mouth of the Hunter River. The city has many historic buildings, a rich and varied culture, and several stunning beaches, headlands and ocean pools. It is also within close proximity to the scenic Hunter Valley wine region, and the Port Stephens region which boasts beautiful beaches and sand dunes, pristine waterways, national parks, and picturesque coastal walks.

Sydney is the capital city of New South Wales, and is the most populous city in Australia. The city surrounds the world’s largest natural harbour and extends west towards the scenic Blue Mountains. The city thrives on tourism, attracting millions of visitors each year. There is plenty to see and do, with some of the popular drawcards including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, the historic Rocks precinct, Sydney Tower, Royal Botanic Gardens, Bondi Beach, Taronga Zoo and the Blue Mountains.

Sydney to Eden Route

Wollongong

Often referred to as 'The Gong', Wollongong is a seaside city located in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, situated on a narrow coastal strip between the mountains and the sea. Popular attractions in the area include the Wollongong harbour and lighthouse, retail and shopping precincts, surrounding beaches and coastal villages, botanic gardens, and the many scenic lookouts and drives along the escarpment and coast, including the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge.

Kiama

Is a scenic seaside town in the Illawarra region of New South Wales. Its proximity to south of Sydney makes it a popular destination for day trippers, and is popular for its numerous cafes and restaurants, scenic coastline and beaches. Attractions include the Kiama Blowhole and Coastal Walk.

Note: Premier Motor Service does not operate coach services into the township of Kiama itself, with our nearest service point the suburb of Bombo, a short distance from the town.

Nowra & Jervis Bay

Nowra is a regional city situated along the Shoalhaven River, and is the main hub of the Shoalhaven district. The surrounding area is predominantly rural farmland, and is also a popular fishing and boating location. There are several tourist towns to the north including Berry and Kangaroo Valley, as well as many scenic coastal communities such as Huskisson, Hyams Beach and Jervis Bay to the south. Premier Motor Service links with Nowra Coaches for local buses services between Bomaderry Railway Station and Nowra to St Georges Basin and Jervis Bay regions.

Ulladulla

A small coastal town on the NSW South Coast, Ulladulla is famous for its fishing harbour, Blessing of the Fleet Festival, and its indoor Funland Park. It is also close to the historic town of Milton, famous for its Heritage Pie Shop, and popular among tourists for its boutique shops and cafes. Other nearby attractions include Pigeon House Mountain and the small, idyllic beachside villages to the north and south, including Bendalong, Lake Conjola, Mollymook, Burrill Lake, and Lake Tabourie.

Batemans Bay

A small town on the South Coast of New South Wales, Batemans Bay is situated along an estuary where the Clyde River meets the Tasman Sea. It is the closest seaside town to Canberra, and is a popular destination with holidaymakers for camping, fishing and boating activities. It is also close to the historic gold mining village of Mogo, which boasts an array of boutique shops and cafes as well as Mogo Zoo.

Narooma

A picturesque coastal town on the far South Coast of New South Wales, Narooma is famous for its Great Southern Blues Festival, as well as its proximity to the magnificent Montague Island. There are several scenic beaches and rock formations including Australia Rock and Glass House Rocks. The nearby coastal communities of Dalmeny and Kianga, as well as the historic Central Tilba village, are also are also popular with tourists.

Bermagui

A quaint little fishing village at the southern end of Horseshoe Bay, Bermagui is surrounded by scenic beaches and stunning natural rock formations, such as Camel Rock and Horse Head Rock. Also within close proximity to the picturesque Wallaga Lake, the largest lake in southern New South Wales.

Bega

A rural town on the Far South Coast of New South Wales, Bega is well known for its scenic farmland, valleys, dairy industry and locally produced cheese which is distributed across the country and exported around the world. It is also within close proximity to the stunning coastal township of Tathra, famous for its iconic fishing wharf, scenic beaches, and nearby national parks and walking trails.

Merimbula

A lakeside town on the Sapphire Coast of New South Wales, Merimbula is a tourist town providing a wide range of holiday accommodation, and is popular for its beautiful beaches, whale and dolphin watching, scuba diving, and snorkelling. Merimbula also has a small oyster farming industry, and is renowned for its fresh rock oysters.

Eden

The most southerly town in New South Wales, situated about half way between Sydney and Melbourne, Eden is a quaint coastal town with rugged cliffs and a large sandy, surf beach. It is also popular with tourists for its whale watching tours and Whale Museum, and is within close proximity to Beowa National Park which includes scenic walking trails, Ben Boyd's Tower, picturesque beach camping, and the beautiful Green Cape Lighthouse.
